Viscous supplement injections
Viscosupplementation supplements the body’s natural fluids through the injection of hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance.
It is used to treat conditions that decrease the elasticity and viscosity of lubricating fluids of a joint.
This injection is currently approved to treat patients with osteoarthritis of the knees. The patient may experience some local pain, tenderness, and minor swelling at the site of injection for a few days after the injection.
The effects of this treatment usually last for approximately six to twelve months.
We offer viscosupplementation for patients who suffer from osteoarthritis of the knees.
