About Nerve Block Injections
Nerve Block injections involve the injection of a nerve-numbing solution into a selective nerve in an attempt to diagnose, treat, and manage pain.
The injection includes a steroid (to reduce inflammation) and lidocaine (to reduce pain).
A compressed or inflamed nerve can create shooting pain. Nerve block injections are used to effectively “turn off” such nerves, and thus reduce any associated inflammation.
These injections can also be used to determine which nerves are causing pain by allowing the doctor to trace the path of the injected solution through the use of imaging devices. The effect of these injections lasts between one and two weeks and can be repeated as required.
Take control of your pain with Nerve Block Injections
Living with chronic pain can feel like an endless battle, but you do not have to fight it alone. At Wilderman Medical Clinic, our nerve block injections offer a comprehensive approach to pain management, targeting the source of your discomfort with precision and expertise.
Nerve Block injections can be used to treat an array of chronic pain issues, most commonly back pain. Diabetes patients should monitor their condition after being injected since these injections could cause an elevation in blood sugar levels. Other side effects may include rash, itching, and weight gain.
Our office offers nerve block injections for spine pain, multiple sclerosis (MS), post-herpetic neuralgia, migraine headaches, causalgia (CRPS/RSD), trigeminal neuralgia, osteoarthritis, lumbago, radiculopathy – cervical, thoracic and lumbar, coccydynia, failed back syndrome, ilioinguinal neuropathy, genitofemoral neuropathy, and occipital neuralgia.
